Amazon introduces new Echo speakers with Alexa

Amazon has tonight almost the entire line with Echo speakers and smart screens with an update. Special is the Echo Auto that you can only buy by invitation.

Echo Dot

The Echo Dot remains the entry-level model in terms of price. For little money you can provide every room of Alexa . With a 1.6 inch driver you do not have to expect much in terms of music, but you can connect this speaker via bluetooth to another, or via a 3.5mm analogue audio cable. For bluetooth streaming this speaker uses A2DP.

Echo

The original Echo speaker has undergone a major facelift last year. This year, Amazon will take over this speaker.

Echo Plus

The previous generation Echo Plus knew a much better speaker than the original Echo, but in terms of looks it was still the standard metal tube. This year the Echo Plus gets her facelift. Also neat with a fabric around it. The speaker has a 3 inch neodymium woofer with a 0.8 inch tweeter. This is the only speaker with a Zigbee smart home hub in it.

Echo Auto

The big news is without doubt the Echo Auto. No facelift, but a completely new device. A device that lets you take Alexa into the car. Alexa uses the speaker system of the car (via Bluetooth A2DP or analogue).

This speaker gets a total of 8 microphones to distinguish the voice of the occupants from the many noise that a car makes. With this expansion it is also easier to use skills based on location. You can also navigate with this speaker. You can choose between Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze.

The Amazon Echo Auto can not be bought for the time being. Amazon only sells it to everyone who has received an invitation to do so.

Amazon Echo Show

The last major facelift is for the Amazon Echo Show. Dis smart display now shows much less speaker than the old design. This second generation also comes with a large 10 inch HD display. This Echo Show also contains a smart home hub so that you can control Zigbee devices directly. For now you can only watch videos from Amazon Prime. YouTube and Netflix are still missing.
