Samsung introduces Galaxy A7 (2018) with three cameras on the back
Samsung is expanding its range from next month with the Galaxy A7 (2018) . The new midrange device has three cameras on the back.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is available in the Netherlands from the beginning of October, for a suggested retail price of 349 euros. This midrange smartphone has a large 6 inch screen, runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) and has three cameras on the back. The device will soon be delivered in three colors: black, gold and blue. With this price it is an alternative to the Galaxy A8 , which is available in the Netherlands since this spring.
It is the first time that Samsung makes a smartphone with three cameras. There is a primary 24 megapixel lens, which is supplemented by a second 5 megapixel lens. That second lens provides bokeh support, giving you a portrait mode in the camera app. The background then gets some blur, making the foreground stand out nicer.
The third camera is a wide-angle lens of 8 megapixels and 120 degrees. For example, you can easily shoot panoramas, or family photos where all uncles, aunts, cousins and nieces are also on. Finally, there is a 24 megapixel camera for selfies, including a LED flash. The other specifications are as follows:

- 2.2 GHz processor with eight cores, 4GB RAM
- 64GB of storage space on expandable storage

New strategy for Galaxy A series
The device is the first example of Samsung's new strategy for midrange smartphones. The company says it will tackle the Galaxy A series differently from this fall, including larger investments. According to DJ Koh, head of Samsung's mobile division, new features will be introduced in the near future on these cheaper devices of the company.
That while it seemed earlier this year as if the series had a less prominent role. In the spring, the company launched the Samsung Galaxy A6 , A6 Plus and Galaxy A8 all with virtually no fanfare. In terms of features, the devices were not very noticeable. With the A7, the company seems to be unpacking. In addition, the company unveils on 11 October a new device , probably the Galaxy A9. That would have at least four cameras behind.
