Nokia presents new smartphone on October 4: unveiling 7.1 Plus?

Nokia 7.1 Plus photos leaked
The Finnish manufacturer has invited the press for an announcement on 4 October in London. At 18:00 Dutch time, the company promises to reveal 'the latest addition to the Nokia smartphone family'. Probably it is a successor of the Nokia 7 Plus, of which in the past weeks several details leaked.
Recently the first renders of this Nokia 7.1 Plus surfaced. The MySmartPrice images show a device with an almost complete front- filling screen. At the top is a small notch for the selfie camera and some sensors, with at the bottom also a narrow beam. That design is one of the biggest differences compared to the Nokia 7 Plus . The screen size has remained almost the same: the 7.1 Plus would have a 6.1 inch screen, compared to 6 inches for the 7 Plus.
More powerful, with quick updates
The Nokia 7 Plus has been on sale in the Netherlands since spring, and is one of the most successful smartphones from Nokia to date. The device has a large screen, relatively smooth hardware and a competitive price-quality ratio. In addition, Nokia promises monthly security updates and a quick upgrade to Android Pie.
The 7.1 Plus probably has, like its predecessor, a midrange price of about 400 euros. Nokia provides the device according to the source of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 chip, a substantial upgrade in raw power. There is more than 6GB of memory and 128GB of storage space available, more than some flagship ships. On the back is a double camera with an unknown number of megapixels. The smartphone runs directly on Android Pie at the release, as you can expect from the Finnish manufacturer.
More Nokia's coming
According to sources, Nokia has more smartphones planned for this fall. In addition to the 7.1 Plus there are also rumors about a Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 9 . That last device would be a new flagship, with no fewer than five cameras on the back. However, it is unclear whether these devices will also be unveiled in early October, or whether Nokia will keep them for a later time.
