In addition, OnePlus itself makes some changes. The accent color of menus can now be adjusted via the settings, and a new 'do not disturb' mode has been added. The 'Gaming Mode' has been updated to version 3.0, and has, among other things, custom notifications for text messages and incoming calls. This mode allows you to play games on your smartphone with fewer interruptions.
Do not download more OnePlus updates earlier with VPN
In the past, OnePlus rolled out its updates from country to country. With a VPN you could then adjust the region of your smartphone to download the update earlier. OnePlus warns that this time is not possible, because the update gradually appears worldwide. A handful of users will receive the update today. If these users do not encounter large bugs, the update will be rolled out to everyone within a few days.
OnePlus is after Google the first major manufacturer to release the Android 9.0 (Pie) update for its flagship. The company is closely followed by Nokia and Sony.
