Samsung promises foldable OLED smartphones for this year

It's been a few years since the manufacturers of screens and smartphones promise us terminals with foldable screens. Samsung today renews its promise by stating that it is able to market a collapsible OLED smartphone this year.
Samsung intends to keep maintaining its innovative smartphone maker label. After introducing the first terminals with edge-to-edge displays, the brand could be the first to offer a foldable OLED display this year.

The South Korean brand has once again confirmed its commitment to offer a smartphone whose screen would be collapsible later this year. The brand has made huge investments in building a folding OLED factory that will fit into a variety of applications and will not be confined to the mobile.
The terminal in question will undoubtedly be high-end oriented at first. However, we could see that Samsung was quickly falling some aspects of its premium smartphones on more accessible ranges, especially with the Galaxy A range. We can therefore hope to see Samsung make these foldable screens a standard in a few years.
It remains to be seen how Samsung intends to exploit this new aspect. Several rumors evoked a folding smartphone in two thus combining the surface of a standard smartphone with that of a tablet. We have also seen some concepts of roll-up screen terminals like parchments. What remains certain is that if screens become foldable, this does not apply to all the electronics that make up our smartphones.
