Apple has made new plans to not buy a screen from Samsung Display
Apple has made new plans to not buy a screen from Samsung Display, the sole manufacturer of OLED displays.
Apple's biggest competitor in the phone sector is Samsung. The two companies, which have been in constant struggles since years, have recently been in agreement because Samsung is producing the OLED screen panes of the iPhone X. This seemed to be a great advantage for Samsung, but Apple was very uncomfortable with it. The iPhone X screens produced by Samsung Display will make $ 22 billion, according to Samsung's 2018 plan. But Apple wants to get ahead of the curve with a move that he is prepared to do.
Apple is gradually cutting orders because it realizes that Samsung is very profitable in this deal. Apple, which has invested $ 2.7 billion in LG Display's OLED production for this purpose, plans to provide screen panels from LG after the second half of 2018.
Apple, which will continue to place orders with Samsung in this process, has also considered the expected number of orders. Samsung, currently the sole supplier of OLED displays, is not sure how it plans, but it is not wrong to say that Apple is trying to dig up Samsung's well.
Samsung to Apple Response
According to the report, Samsung Display will reduce the amount of parts it buys to make the iPhone X OLED screens. According to recent estimates, parts orders are down to 40 million. These orders will fall to 20 million in the first quarter of 2018 and this decline will continue until the second half of the year. Afterwards, all production will go to LG, Apple will end its partnership with Samsung. Apple normally produces so many more iPhones in such a time that it would go down in the phone price to a win-win system. It looks like we will not see much decline in the price of the iPhone X this year.
Apple also announced that it will stop iPhone X in the second half of this year. The company will produce a cheaper display as a result of its partnership with LG, which will result in a cheaper iPhone being sold. This means that the company will give up the iPhone X completely and switch to a new phone in a new partnership.
How do you think this situation will be resolved? Will the LG Display stand alone under Apple orders, or will Apple have to regret and have to deal with Samsung again? I expect your comments.
